Laredo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce History
Advocating for Hispanic and Minority-Owned Businesses in Laredo, Texas
The Laredo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, founded in late 2021, was established to provide focused advocacy, representation, and support for Hispanic, minority-owned, and small businesses in Laredo and Webb County.
Local entrepreneurs recognized a growing need for an organization dedicated specifically to the economic success of border-based, Hispanic-led enterprises. Therefore, the Chamber was created to ensure that these businesses would have a strong, independent voice within the regional business community.
From the beginning, the Laredo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has centered its efforts on empowerment, access to opportunity, and sustainable growth.
A Chamber Built Specifically for Border Businesses
The Laredo economy operates within a unique international environment shaped by cross-border trade, logistics, and binational commerce. Because of this distinct economic landscape, business owners require targeted support that reflects the realities of operating along the U.S.–Mexico border.
The Laredo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was formed to:
-
Advocate for Hispanic and minority-owned enterprises
-
Support start-ups and emerging entrepreneurs
-
Provide culturally aligned business education and technical assistance
-
Promote small business access to capital and contracts
-
Strengthen international trade participation
Rather than serving as a general business association, the Chamber maintains a focused mission centered on representation, advocacy, and economic advancement for underserved sectors.

By strengthening economic relationships throughout South Texas and Northern Mexico, the Chamber reinforces its commitment to border-region prosperity.

-
To amplify underrepresented business voices

To create access to opportunity

To promote sustainable economic growth
As Laredo continues to expand, the Chamber remains dedicated to ensuring Hispanic and minority-owned businesses not only participate in that growth — but lead it.
